Next update expected end of May
Nearly two years after its initial release, Minecraft – Pocket Edition has surpassed the 10-million-copies-sold mark. Cue the glitter toss!
To accompany this positive piece of news, Mojang’s Daniel Kaplan took the time to talk about future updates for Pocket Edition, something fans have complained about the lack of in the past.
“We have been working hard on restructuring the backend of a lot of things for Minecraft – Pocket Edition to make future updates smoother. For instance, you can now change options without jumping back to the main menu.”
Kaplan also mentioned an impending set of features that will be made available to those rocking Pocket Edition on some of the more powerful devices: “What you can also notice is that we have in one of our menus (more to come in the future) an experimental title where we will put in features that will work for more high end devices.”
Oh, and buckets. Buckets will also be included in the next update which is expected to launch near the end of May.
