Want to know when you can get your grasping, sweaty hands on Nintendo’s latest handheld? Beefy NOA president Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed that the 3DS will be available in all territories by March 2011. That’s not to say that some territories won’t get it sooner than others, but that’s the current cut-off date for the system’s launch.
“We’ll be making individual market decisions in terms of what’s happening in Japan, what’s happening in the Americas, what’s happening in Europe,” explains the meaty executive. “The one thing, for sure, is that we will launch in all of our major markets by March 31, 2011.”
Reggie also added that the 3DS we have seen at E3 is a mere prototype, with a button layout that could change based on fan feedback. I actually loved the look of the 3DS when I got my own hands on it, but if Nintendo can think of ways to make it better, that’s fine by me.
