Curtis Jackson, better known as rapper 50 Cent, turns the tables and puts advertising firm Traffix under the gun for the use of his likeness in a web game called Shoot the Rapper.
Jackson takes a shot at at Traffix, claiming that his image was illegally used in this game that lets players target a rapper-looking character with their cursor. He’s asking for 1 million dollars in damages and is requesting a permanent injunction that would prevent his likeness from being used in the game.
His name does not show up in the game, but his lawyer Peter Raymond says, “It looks like him, and there’s no doubt the character is intended to be him.”
We don’t know if the character was actually supposed to be 50 Cent, but we’re all for one less interactive “Shoot the ___” ad on the internet. This could be a new game called Sue the Ad Agency and Win A Prize.
