Brink, currently sitting at number one in the United Kingdom, has enjoyed a disproportionate amount of sales on the Xbox 360 in its home country. 69% of British retail sales were on the 360, while the PS3 version got 23% and the PC version only 8%.
The PS3 is generally a much more competitive console in Britain, where there’s a lot of Sony loyalty. With players unable to get their PS3 games online due to the three-week outage, it seems most consumers went for the console that works. Well, I say works … the 360 version might as well not be online with the current lag.
This follows news that retailers have taken in an exceptional amount of PS3 trade-ins. Although the PlayStation Network is now coming back online, I think the affects of the outage will be felt for quite some time.
