If you ever need a reminder of the importance of the 80s in videogame history, just take a look at any one of the numerous major franchises that have been celebrating their 25th anniversaries lately. Now it’s Metal Gear‘s turn at the plate.
In April, Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo will be selling 14 different T-shirt designs based on most every entry of the venerable series, from all the way back to the MSX2 days through this year’s Metal Gear Rising. As posted on Hideo Kojima’s Twitter, the shirts vary from basic to snazzy. I kinda think my favorite one is the black number with the tiny parachuting Snake sprite on the front corner and the crawling Snake on the back. I dunno, it’s just so simple.
Hopefully, the shirts will be available at the New York Uniqlo stores as well as online, but unfortunately the Revengeance shirt will be exclusive to the Ginza district in Tokyo.
