Ffffffuuu… there goes any chance of ever being financially secure again! God dammit, Capcom!
It might have slipped your mind, what with Capcom trying its best to cancel any project with the Mega Man name attached, but this year marks the Blue Bomber’s 25th anniversary. In lieu of a new game, Capcom has decided to compile the music from all ten Classic Mega Man titles on ten CDs. For Mega Man 1-6, both the original NES soundtracks and the arranged Complete Works PlayStation soundtracks are included, and the entire shebang is then stuffed into a sweet E-Tank tin.
With the exception of the Complete Works tracks, all this music has been made available in CD form in the past. However, previous releases of the 1-8 OSTs have been plagued by poor recordings, looping issues, and a bevy of intrusive sound effects. I doubt this new release will correct those errors, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
The collection is only being sold on the Japanese e-Capcom store for ¥14700 (about $185) on September 19. That’s waaaaay too much money, even without considering the shipping and commission costs of buying through a proxy service! Unfortunately for a schmuck like me, even though I already own all the original soundtracks, my compulsive nature demands that I buy this tin. My wallet can’t take much more of this madness.
