Phew! That was a close one.
When Square Enix revealed their second go around for Final Fantasy VII on PC, fears were instilled among the masses that the new “Character Booster” tool would utilize a microtransaction based model. Thankfully, Square Enix told Kotaku yesterday that the tool would be completely free to use.
The Square Enix rep clarified, “No, the Character Booster will not cost real money to use. We’ll have final pricing info on the game to share soon, but we can confirm that there will be no microtransactions for the upcoming re-release of Final Fantasy VII on PC.”
FFVII‘s new Character Booster tool is basically a Game Genie cheat tool that allows people to boost their HP, MP, and Gil “all with the simple click of a button.” I won’t use it, but I won’t judge either!
