Pulling in a slew of positive reviews and stellar sales, Crysis 2 has been a hit for both Electronic Arts and developer Crytek. This despite the fact that the original game, released in 2007 for the PC, never made it to home consoles. But that could be changing soon.
The South Korean Game Ratings Board has approved Crysis — yes, no “2” — for release on the Xbox 360. The title is listed as being published by EA Korea. The ESRB later chimed in with its own rating, adding the PlayStation 3 to the mix. Whether we’re looking at a full retail release or a downloadable title (a la American McGee’s Alice) isn’t yet clear.
We’ve reached out to Electronic Arts and Crytek for comment and clarification.
