This week’s Fake Game Friday idea comes from westcabaretdrive and is a great idea on how to not only use the Wiimote innovatively, but also broaden the Wii’s target age audience. Got a fake game idea of your own? Pick your alcoholic poison: either email me your idea or submit it to our forums. Here’s westcabaretdrive’s idea:
It’s for the Wii. You can use the motion control to pour out drinks, mix, shake, and slide them across the counter. The best part of this game is that you’ll learn actual bartending by doing it — by the higher levels of play you’ll know how to make hundreds of different drinks.
The characters that come to the bar either tell you what they want or you try to guess depending on how they look. You aren’t limited to preset recipes, but can mix whatever you want together, so you can create your own new drinks and test them in the game before you make them in real life. In multiplayer mode you race to serve customers — if you complete an order at the same time the player who slides their glass first knocks the other one out of the way.
This game could probably sell to a lot of non-gamers, which is in line with the marketing of the Wii. It could be priced in the budget range and become a sleeper hit. Also obviously, it is its own drinking game.
