It’s like the Rent movie, except it’s not awful
I don’t like most fan made videos about live action videogame characters. I also don’t like most musicals. That’s why it’s so strange that have ended up enjoying more than one fan made musical about live action videogame characters. First it was Street Fighter High: The Musical, and now this. That makes two!
Loyalty to the source material doesn’t seem to be a top priority here (Olimar didn’t even bother to shave his beard) and the plot is paper thin, but the spirit of cooperation that lies at the heart of the Pikmin series is definitely present. There’s no rock Pikmin, which is sort of a bummer, but we do get a tentacle faced man who I assume is some sort of inside joke for fans of Random Encounters other videos.
Also, a friendly reminder, Pikmin 2: NPC is only $20, and according to Chad Concelmo, it’s one of the best games in one of the best series EVER. It makes a great stocking stuffer! Go get it if you haven’t already.
