Destructoid is hosting a panel at MAGFest X this weekend, and it will be stupid. So stupid. It hasn’t even happened yet and I’m already embarrassed for myself and my co-hosts. I think it’s funny that we’ll be in the same panel room, directly following The Art of Video Games at the Smithsonian American panel. First serious, then stupid.
The Destructoid Live! panel is set for 4:30pm on Saturday at the 10th annual Music and Gaming Festival, taking place January 5 – 8 at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD. Hamza, Samit, myself and other Dtoid friends and family will scream at you, make you play stupid games, give you prizes and maybe even let you ask us questions. It’s going to be fun. There’s going to be free sh*t. You should go.
You know what? You should go to MAGFest anyway. Everyone’s going, and it’s going to be a blast. There’s so many great gaming-related events and panels all weekend, including a second appearance from yours truly in the Bad Dudes panel, where I’ll reveal my remix of Shenmue‘s “Tomato Convenience Store” theme song. The highlight of the show is always the amazing live concerts by acts like The OneUps, ARMCANNON, The Megas, Metroid Metal and more. Of course, they’ll all bow down to this year’s special guest, Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu. He’ll be peforming live with his band, the Earthbound Papas.
Really, you should go. It’s a great way to kick off a new year.
