Cyanide’s previous A Song of Ice and Fire adaptation wasn’t a wild success, but if anything the studio does tend to show ambition in their projects. It’s second title, simply called Game of Thrones to cash in on that sweet TV show branding, will see you take control of a brother of the Night’s Watch and a Red Priest in alternation just like the books alternate characters per chapter.
Game of Thrones takes place after the events (spoilers!!) some time past the halfway point in the show’s first season, and should run in tandem with the second season as HBO has given the studio early access to footage. I’m so jealous, I could just read A Clash of Kings again to see exactly what happened! Cyanide is taking the action-RPG road with this one, with loot, experience, and a conversation system to boot. It looks pretty good too, although I’m not sure what’s wrong with that dog.
The cold winds are rising sometime in Q2 2012 on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
