Some guy lost his life savings for a Kinect at a carnival

‘Tubs of Fun’ sounds anything but

A man attempting to win a Kinect at a carnival has reportedly lost his life savings of $2,600 on “Tubs of Fun.” Henry Gribbohm of New Hampshire claims that, during a practice run, the game was easy, but once he played for real and money was involved, “it’s not possible that it wasn’t rigged.”

How does one lose on this scale? He reportedly tried to win back his lost money by going double or nothing. Fiesta Shows, who put on the carnival, says that Tubs of Fun was hosted by an independent contractor that had been used for years. Gribbohm went back the day after losing, got $600 back from the person running the game, and eventually filed a police report.

After first seeing the headlines, I was so convinced this wasn’t a real story, but reality can be far stranger than fiction. Especially when a banana with dreadlocks is involved. You could successfully argue that this guy came away with the better prize.
