The idea of punching a guy in the butt has always made me smile. Why not kick them in the balls instead? To make the effort to get down there and punch that butt would be such a weird decision, especially in a high stakes battle of life and death.
In Skullgirls, punching people in the butt makes a little more sense, because there are no balls in the game to speak of (yet). All of the currently selectable characters in this 2D fighting game for PSN/XBLA are women. Though the “all girl” fighter has been done before, I don’t think it’s ever been done with this much imagination. Detachable heads, hats made out of muscular man-arms, and prehensile, cannibalistic hair styles are just a few of the things that separate these ladies from the pack.
We’ll be talking about all that and more on this week’s Sup, Holmes? with the game’s lead designer Mike Z.
