Later this year, it seems as if the PS3 is netting even more streaming video options (which also means Microsoft is poised to steal said exclusivity at some point). Previously only available on the web and limited streaming devices like the Roku, the anime/korean drama video hub Crunchyroll is coming later this year.
You can choose between anime or Korean drama blocks for $6.95 a month each, or nab a duo deal for $11.95 and watch both. According to a post on the Playstation Blog, Crunchyroll will be offering their standard free limited tier offering — so it couldn’t hurt to at least try out the app when it rolls out.
In related news, Neon Alley (Viz Media’s 24 hour anime channel) will also be coming later this Fall to the PS3. It’s $6.99 a month and airs shows on a schedule, which means that it’s not technically “on-demand.”
All hail anime! Now I just need to figure out when Neon Alley is airing the new Berserk Golden Age films.
