Debate has raged like a storm recently on Destructoid as to whether or not The Last Guardian is still in development or not, given some recent bad news on the subject.
It turns out that Eurogamer did some detective work, and caught up with Sony Worldwide Studios chief Shuhei Yoshida at Gamescom, who confirmed that the team is “still working on it very hard.” He notes that they have been braving through some technical issues, and as an outside viewer, it doesn’t seem like much is going on, but “there is a lot of work going into [it].”
So what technical issues is the team facing? Well, apparently Sony Japan had to completely re-work the game at one point to ensure that it was even playable. When asked about whether or not it was going to still be a PS3 release or a next-gen title, Yoshida confirmed that it was still on course for the PS3.
Well, that’s great news! Now can we get some updated gameplay shots, please?
