Sup Holmes invites Anna Anthropy to blow your minds

[Destructoid’s Director of Communications Hamza Aziz asked Jonathan Holmes to make a show called ‘Sup, Holmes?’ so that Destructoid could later sell a t-shirt that says ‘Sup, Holmes?’ on it. This is that show. Subscribe to the podcast feed and find more episodes here.]

I am going to talk as little as possible on this week’s edition of Sup, Holmes?. The more I can keep my mouth shut, the more we get of Anna. She’s easily one of the most interesting people working in videogames today. I’m sad that show is only an hour and a half long.

So what makes Anna so great? Well, as a developer, she’s put out masochistic platformers (Mighty Jill Off), arcade games about alien lesbians (Lesbian Spider Queens of Mars), NSFW erotic text adventures (Encyclopedia F*ckme), and unflinching autobiographical titles (Dys4ia). As a writer she’s created a book (Rise of the Videogame Zinesters), edited a gaming enthusiast magazine (The Gamer’s Quarter), and sorted through all the Animal Crossing porn on the internet. On top of all that, she’s easily the most biting and severe critic of gaming and gaming culture writing today, which should make for a very interesting discussion. As a special bonus, her girlfriend may get on the show and scream about Disney World, so get ready for that.
