Deal North: Black Friday hardware buyer’s guide

Consoles, portables, and accessories

Recommended Videos

Even with the early store openings they’re calling Gray Thursday, Black Friday is really only one shopping day, so it’s understandable that you’d want to maximize your time. We’ve done the footwork for you so you can go straight to the cheapest place for whatever you might be looking for. We’ve sorted the list by the top gaming items for Black Friday 2013 so you can see who has what for the best price, with the main link taking you to the lowest price we’ve found.

Please note that these items will switch over to their lowest price on Black Friday, so you may have to revisit some of these links on Friday morning. As for the unlinked products, you’ll have to wait in line at the store for those.

As always, if you find something we’ve missed, or you’ve found a better deal than we have, let us know.

Happy shopping!

Consoles:

PS4 — $399

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

These will be hard to come by, but some retailers, including Walmart and GameStop, will be putting out stock on Black Friday. Line up early!

Xbox One — $499

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA.

These will be hard to come by, but some retailers, including Walmart and GameStop, will be putting out stock on Black Friday. Equip your best armor!

PS3 13GB System — $149

Amazon | Walmart

Amazon, Walmart and others have the 12GB PS3 slim for $50 off for the weekend. But it’s not as good a deal as…

PS3 250GB system with Batman: Arkham Origins and The Last of Us — $199

Amazon  | Best Buy | Target  | Walmart | Kmart | Toys R Us  | GameStop

This is THE deal for Black Friday for videogames. Everyone has the same price, it seems.

Azurite Blue PS3 with Jak & Daxter Collection — $249.99

GameStop $249.99

GameStop has the exclusive on this slim PS3 bundle in a cool blue color.

Xbox 360 4GB E system — $99

Walmart $99 in store

Don’t mess with the rest. The next lowest price on this system is nearly twice as much.

Xbox 360 250GB system with Halo 4 and Tomb Raider — $189

Amazon $189 | Best Buy | Target $199 | GameStop $199 |

Amazon has the free shipping for you Prime members, but Best Buy may be the way to go with this bundle as they’re throwing in Darksiders II and a code for Batman: Arkham City.

Xbox 360 Kinect bundle with Kinect Sports and Kinect Adventues — $189

Target $189

If you hate the good games in the previous bundle and want dorky Kinect games, get this one at Target.

Wii U system with New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U and Mario or Luigi Wii Remote — $319.97

Best Buy | Kmart $299 w/o Wii Remote

The Best Buy price on this bundle is fantastic — three games and the 32GB console for $320.

Wii U Skylanders Swap Force bundle (8GB system) — $299.99

GameStop $299

Pre-owned Wii — $39.99

GameStop $39.99

If you still want the Wii, this thing is a better buy than the Wii Mini.

Portables:

Nintendo 2DS — $99.99

Walmart | Kmart ($119.99) | GameStop ($129.99)

Don’t even mess with the rest as Walmart has the new 2DS for the lowest price. This is one of the hottest items this year. Good luck getting one, though.

Nintendo 3DS Luigi’s Mansion Bundle — $149.99

Amazon | Best Buy (use code 3DSDEAL for $149) | Target | Walmart | Kmart | Toys R Us | GameStop

Awesome system, awesome game. Awesome price, if you can find it.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 3DS XL bundle — $149.99

Target $149.99 | GameStop $219.99

Earlier in the week Nintendo tweeted that the Zelda 3DS bundle would be priced at $149 at Target on Black Friday.

Nintendo 3DS XL (Black, Blue, Red, White/Pink) — $149.99

Target $149.99

Go to Target if you need a 3DS XL and can’t find the sweet Zelda or Luigi ones.

PlayStation Vita — $169.99

Best Buy $169.99 | GameStop $179

You may or may not see the Best Buy price of $169 online, but it is that price at stores. Other retailers are at $179 if you can’t find it at the Blue and Yellow.

PlayStation Vita with The Walking Dead plus one more game and accessory – $199

Walmart $199.

Walmart.com has a deal where you can get a Vita, The Walking Dead, another game, and an accessory, all for $199.

Controllers:

DualShock 3 — $34.99

Amazon | Best Buy | Target ($39.99) | Walmart ($39.96) | Toys R Us ($39.99)

Amazon and Best Buy have the best prices on DualShock 3 controllers. Amazon has a bunch of different colors.

Xbox 360 Camo controller — $34.99

Amazon | Best Buy $39.99

Amazon is $5 cheaper than the rest on this camo contorller.

Accessories:

Ear Force X12 Headset — $34.99

Best Buy | Target ($39.99)

8GB PlayStation Vita Memory Card — $9.99

GameStop $9.99

Normally you’d laugh off an 8GB memory card, but when you consider how overpriced the Vita memory cards are, the $10 card at GameStop is a must-grab item.

PS3 Pulse Wireless Headset — $79.99

GameStop $79.99

Memberships:

PlayStation Plus Membership — $29.99

Amazon | Target | Walmart | GameStop | Toys R Us

GameStop has PS Plus for 1 year for $20 off.

Xbox Live Gold 3-Mont sub — $9.99

Target | GameStop $14.99

Target has 3 months of Xbox Live Gold for $10. Others are selling it for $15, which is still a great price.

Tablets:

iPad 2 16GB WiFi — $299.99

BestBuy $299.99 doorbuster

You better be ready to fight for one of these.

Televisions:

LG 55″ 1080p LED HDTV — $499.99

Best Buy $499.99 doorbuster

This is a deal worth kicking the door down for.
