Remastered, unreleased tracks, Yoshitaka Amano artwork
Final Fantasy IV is easily one of my favorite soundtracks in the series. That’s probably because it contains one of my favorite tracks of all time, “Troian Beauty.” Square Enix apparently agrees and is re-releasing the long out-of-print soundtrack, but with added goodies to sweeten the deal further.
As to what’s included with the Final Fantasy IV Original Sound Track Remaster Version (I’m a little bummed they dropped the “Original Sound Version” subtitle), remastered tracks will feature two loops as opposed to the original’s single-loop versions (this is probably why this album spans two discs as opposed to the original’s one), along with unreleased music from the game and a sleeve containing new artwork by artist Yoshitaka Amano for first-press editions.
I’m curious to hear what the unreleased tracks are all about as well as what they have in store for the Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI soundtracks, which are also being remastered in some form according to the official website. Stay tuned for more information, but in the meantime, the album’s already available for pre-order via CD Japan for $30 USD if you want to get your hands on the first-press casing. It ships July 3, 2013.
