New games, new art, and free beer?
[Snake and Spider-Man by Reyyy]
The good people at Attract Mode have not one, but two big gallery shows for you to have. The first is No Quarter 2013, which opens this Friday at NYU’s Game Center at the Tisch School of the Arts, 721 Broadway on the 9th floor. So what’s going to be there? Well for starters, there will be gallery art based on games like Nidhogg and Deep Sea on display, and brand new games by the likes of Sophie Houlden (Swift * Stitch, Leaper) and Bennett Foddy (QWOP, Winner Vs. Loser) for the playing. The event is being sponsored by the Brooklyn Brewery, so there will also be beer. It’s free and open to the public but you may want to RSVP.
The second show is planned for less than a week later in Toronto. Comics Vs. Games 2 features all new games-based artwork from Natasha Allegri (Adventure Time) Zac Gorman (Magical Game Time) Lindsay Collins (Cat Girl Without Salad) and many more. The show opens on Thursday, May 9th at 7pm at #100–862 Richmond St W. It’s the start of a larger event from Bento Miso called Bit Bazaar, featuring exhibitions by Drinkbox, Christine Love, and tons of other beloved videogame types. Why not make a whole weekend of it? It’s like PAX Canada, except it wont cost you 20-50 hamburgers worth of your hard earned cash to attend.
It’s classy fun times for people that want the good stuff.
