But no time frame on when it’ll happen
Ubisoft has been under fire lately from the handheld crowd when it was discovered that the PS Vita release of Rayman Legends was missing several levels that were included with the console versions of the game. So, when the publisher’s official blog posted an obligatory “Rayman Legends is out now” story, commenters took the opportunity to ask exactly why the Vita adaptation was stripped-down.
Communications manager Gary Steinman responded and shed some light on the situation. Due to a longer than expected development time, the Invasion mode — a time-based challenge based off of existing Legends maps — had to be cut from the final product. However, Ubisoft plans to add Invasion mode via a free patch, although it wasn’t stated when this would happen.
It’s unfortunate that Ubisoft shipped an unfinished game, even though that’s not exactly a rarity in the gaming industry these days. At least it sounds like this example will be resolved at some point.
