Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax is coming west this summer, Sega just announced.

The crossover project celebrates the 20th anniversary of Dengeki Bunko, pitting characters from Sword Art Online, Spice & Wolf, and other series against one another.

Familiar faces from Sega’s catalog, including Virtua Fighter‘s Akira Yuki and Selvaria of Valkyria Chronicles fame, also join the fray as unlockable characters. Moreover, the rings themselves draw inspiration from Sega titles like Sonic the Hedgehog and Phantasy Star Online.

The fighting game was developed by Ecole Software and French Bread, who you might know from their work on Melty Blood and the upcoming Under Night In-Birth.

Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax is planned for a summer release on PlayStation 3 and Vita via both PSN and your favorite brick-and-mortar retailers.
