Rapid-fire pew pew
Independent developers have really been delivering with metroidvanias lately, though with titles like Chasm or Paradise Lost on the horizon, it seems like they lean toward slow, methodical gameplay. Greedy Guns goes in the other direction, bringing frantic gunplay to the genre.
From the trailer, it looks pretty dang fun. With fast gameplay, colorful environments, and two-player cooperative play, it almost makes me think of Guacamelee!, but with mercenaries instead of luchadores and guns instead of fists.
Greedy Guns has already made it through the Steam Greenlight process and is planned to release on Linux, Mac, and Windows. No release date has been given.
