How Creative Assembly is designing their Alien for Alien: Isolation

Smart, aware and invincible

Sega has released a new video featuring members of the development team at Creative Assembly working on Alien: Isolation, as they describe their goals and approach toward designing the lone Xenomorph stalking the player throughout the game.

They certainly make it out to be a tense, terrifying experience. A xenomorph should completely outmatch a lone human and it’s all too often that creatures which are supposed to be frightening because we can neither understand nor destroy them get undermined by a desire to make the player feel powerful. This sounds like the opposite of that, which I can get behind if their ambitions prove to be the reality.
