GASP! An artist that goes by his real name on the Internets?! Blasphemy! OK, maybe I’m being over dramatic. I’m so used to artists using their pseudo-personas that it’s actually a refreshing change to see someone using their real name.
Bill Mudron is easily a master of his crafts with his pieces that turn our very well known gaming icons into overly extreme cartoony versions of their former selves. We’ve actually featured him in the past with his Dead Mario’s piece but I don’t think we’ve ever been able to put a name to it until now.
As awesome as his videogame drawings are, he does plenty of other works as well. From Firefly, Batman to a Marry Poppins that I would love to pop (wink wink). Also, a lot of his original works seem to heavily remind me of old school (black and white) Popeye cartoons — which is a good thing.
If you like what you see and would like something created by him for yourself, than scroll to the bottom of his portfolio page to check his rates. Also, for you EGM readers out there, keep an eye out for Bills work in upcoming issues.
[Editor’s note: So sorry for the absence of AAF last week. It was my goal to live blog Penny Arcade’s Monday strip but me and the team totally got side tracked with more important business … OK, that’s a total lie. We ran into GameJew who we hadn’t seen or heard from in months so there was a mini orgy on GameJew followed by singing of the Mr. Destructoid theme!
In any case, AAF is now back to it’s weekly schedule with the oh so lovable .tiff taking her turn for next weeks Art Attack Friday.]
