Microsoft has locked down a deal with 20th Century Fox to release the first two seasons of Family Guy on the Xbox Live Marketplace, and U.S. gamers will be able to download episodes starting Monday of next week. This marks the first deal between Microsoft and Fox as well as the first time Family Guy has been available for donwload, though it looks like we can expect more.
According to GamesIndustry.biz, Fox executive vice president Jamie McCabe told says, “This is our first one. We hope to have other content on there, but right now with the launch of Halo 3 and the launch of the new [fifth] season of Family Guy coming out [on DVD], the timing worked out really well for this one.”
Each episode will be available for 160 Microsoft Points ($2) in the United States. Family Guy fans in other territories will just have to buy the (probably cheaper) DVD collections.
