Hidetaka Miyazaki is movin’ on up
Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls creator/director Hidetaka Miyazaki has been promoted to president of From Software, reports Gamasutra. Which is excellent, maybe. Or maybe it’s not. Between this and Kadokawa Corp. acquiring the company, it’s already been a wild year.
I don’t know what to call this other than “interesting” considering, really, we don’t know how the promotion will play out. Miyazaki has had a tremendous impact on From Software through his work on Demon’s and Dark Souls. He’s excelled as a director — but will this new role limit his ability to do more of that, to do what he (potentially) does best?
I’m hopeful it won’t. For all I know Miyazaki will rock it as president.
