A lot less underage underboob
Nintendo is starting a trend with costume changes during localizations, this time in the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles X. Outfits for the character Lin, who is 13 years old, have been changed to be less revealing.

As you can see above, Nintendo has changed its product to be a bit more appropriate for regions outside of Japan. No more seeing a child — who is old enough to be in the seventh or eighth grade — in a tiny, revealing bikini for us.
This comes just after the controversy over Nintendo removing the extra smutty costumes from localizations of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, which Japanese players didn’t even like in the original release. The skimpy lingerie was replaced with more tasteful Metroid and Zelda costumes.
Thus far, these changes for Lin’s costumes in Xenoblade Chronicles X have only been confirmed for the EU release, so there is still a small possibility that Nintendo of America won’t implement them prior to the scheduled US release date of December 4.
If you’re upset over the changes, you could always just move to Japan, where all the porn is pixelated, all the costumes are skimpy, and the age of consent is 13 (as long as it is a sincere romantic relationship). Or just import a Wii U and Japanese copy of the game, I guess.
