UK web site offering Xbox 360 Metal Gear Solid 4 pre-orders?

Does music retailer HMV know something that we don’t?

This page on HMV UK’s web site lists Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as available for preorder… for the Xbox 360. The release date is listed as September 26th, 2008 and is priced at £39.99. Sure, this is hardly proof of of an upcoming Xbox 360 version, but the ‘I told you so posts’ are probably already being drafted. Let me fix that.

This is more than likely a typo. The same site lists the upcoming PS3 exclusive Haze as available for preorder as well. Sony’s Kaz Hirai and Phil Harrison are always pulling fast ones on us, but we think they were serious about the exclusivity of both of these high profile titles.

Oh, and you have to love how Tom Hank’s animated atrocity The Polar Express is listed under MGS4’s ‘customers who bought this product also bought…’ category. Seriously?

Is HMV just crazy? Is their web guy with messing with us?
