Pornhub data shift in porn console king
Pornhub, which I am told by other people familiar with the webpage is a site for viewing adult, pornographic films, has released its statistical year in review. All sorts of interesting trends popping up, here. “Lesbian” bumped off “teen” as the most popular search term worldwide while “step mom” went up another place to third (while “milf” and “mom” both dropped to fifth and sixth, respectively). “Cartoon” went up four places, too.
But the more granular you get, the more interesting porn terminology, already hilarious in its abstraction, becomes. For example, the fastest growing search is for “giantess,” which was searched over 1000% more in 2015 than the prior year. While it was the fastest growing search term, it only pops up in the 18-34 age range, and it didn’t make the US-specific list, which is topped by “hardcore lesbian scissoring” as the most trending. Sounds violent. Meanwhile the top two US search terms are “step mom” and “cartoon,” respectively.
“Fuck me daddy” is on the rise, too.
What we’re here for today, though, is to compare the video game console porn market share. PlayStation led in 2013, but Xbox numbers surged in 2014, maybe on account of no games. Now, in 2015, PlayStation has seen a 17% growth in traffic share to Xbox’s 17% dip. Adding the Vita (5% of video game traffic) and PlayStation constitutes 51.9% of traffic from video game consoles to the Xbox’s 37.9%. 3DS actually had the highest growth, but still only accounts for 1.3% of traffic (putting Nintendo around 10%, total).
