New toy for the casual LARPer
Some recent Nintendo games have had little messages gently suggesting that the player take a break and go outside, but LyteShot wants to take that a step further. Built to take outside and play games in actual space with actual people, I can’t help but feel like I am not in the target audience for this. Maybe someone can make a game where I get to remain in the comfort of my home while commanding other people who are playing outside. I can get down with that.
LyteShot connects to mobile phones and essentially acts like a networked lasertag set that is not limited to dank, foggy arcades. One neat thing is that it has a few different attachments, including a gun for the pew pew, a dagger for assassin-style games, and a wand for those comfortable enough to shout goofy incantations in public. Expelliarmus!
LyteShot has more than a month left in its Kickstarter campaign, and it has already raised more than 10% of its $168,534 goal.
