But you’ll have to hit level 20

The Coalition is holding back a set of cosmetic items, the “Vintage Kait Reward Pack,” for folks who participate in the Gears of War 4 beta and rank up to level 20. If you can’t quite make out the text in that tweet, the individual items are a character skin, a pair of beat-up weapon skins, a “rare one-match double XP bounty” card, and a vintage character emblem. Gotta look presentable out there!
A quick reminder on the dates for the beta, as they’re easy to forget with all of the other betas happening this month: the early access period is April 18 – 24 (for folks who played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition before April 12), and then everyone else with an Xbox Live Gold subscription can get in from April 25 until the beta closes on May 1. So, a week or two to level up.
Steven’s preview has me interested in Gears 4 for the first time since its unveiling. Having skipped Ultimate Edition and blocked most of Judgment from memory, it has been a long while since I have played this series — but I’ve always had a soft spot for the multiplayer. I’m looking to get back in.
Some of you will have no problem hitting 20 right away, and I’ll surely be out there making your job easier as cannon fodder. It feels like I’ve grown progressively worse with each game.
