Two games instead of one
We’re winding down the month, which means it’s again that time where Microsoft lets its Xbox Live Gold subscribers know the new titles they’ll get for free as part of Games with Gold. But, this announcement comes with a nice little surprise that makes the program considerably more appealing.
Starting in July, Xbox is giving away two Xbox One games every month instead of one. Adding in the two Xbox 360 titles that are already included, Gold members can download up to four free games every month.
The Xbox One’s release schedule is a bit staggered, but ultimately better than the 360’s. A new game will pop up on every first and 15th, but they’ll all be available for four weeks instead of two. As always, we’ll be here to remind you to nab those freebies, lest you forget and miss out on the biggest upside to your Live subscription.
July’s Xbox One titles have already been revealed, and they deal with clones and crossbones. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag sticks around for the entire month, and indie platformer So Many Me is available from July 16 until August 15. On the 360 side of things, Plants vs. Zombies takes the first half of July, and Gears of War 3 rounds out the back end.
