It just dropped this week
As of today, you can go ahead and grab the Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour demo that’s been available on PS4 for some time, and most recently, Xbox One. It’s on the shorter side, but it’ll give you a good idea of how RE7 runs on your machine before you drop your cash on it, and contains a number of different PC options like an FOV slider.
So far folks are reporting smooth uncapped framerates and no major widespread issues, so it seems worth the effort to at least try the 30 minute romp. Will the tense atmosphere hold up through the roughly 10 hour campaign (according to Capcom)? That’s the real question for next month — and, will we be getting any sort of Mercenary or New Game+ type mode that the series has given us for two decades now? There are a lot of “what ifs” with this thing.
