Activision is giving some last-gen Destiny players free USB drives

Are you an ‘existing and active’ player?

With Destiny‘s new expansion The Taken King launching next week, the game just received a new update that is too large to install on last-gen consoles with less than 20GB of storage built in.

When this was announced last month, Activision announced that a limited number of affected last-gen players, who could demonstrate that they were still “existing and active” Destiny players, would be offered a solution to their situation.

According to GameSpot, one player who reached out to Activision was mailed a 32GB, USB 3.0 drive. While the Destiny update currently can’t be run by having the files installed to USB, Activision will apparently soon be releasing a patch to allow the files to be installed and run from a USB device.

Need a free 32GB USB 3.0 drive to keep playing Destiny? Be quick, you’ll have to request one before The Taken King launches next week.
