Want a Falco amiibo? You’ll likely have to go to Best Buy

Ah, another retailer-exclusive

[Update: Best Buy just confirmed Falco’s exclusivity on the store’s corporate website.]

Legendary wingman Falco Lombardi has an amiibo flying to store shelves soon, but he’s not landing just anywhere. There appears to be only one stop planned from the famed Star Fox pilot, and it’s at Best Buy.

A new page popped up on Best Buy’s site this morning that contains an image of the Falco amiibo with an “Only at Best Buy” logo over it. The button to pre-order it is actually live right now, but it’s impossible to complete the transaction because it won’t let you select a store to pick Falco up at. Shipping isn’t a day-one option; you need to actually go to Best Buy to get it.

It’s unsurprising that pre-orders haven’t officially begun yet. Falco doesn’t release until November 20 — a solid five weeks away. In past months, several retailers haven’t even held pre-orders for their exclusives, so there’s a chance that could be the case here, too.

For those who are wondering, Best Buy’s last exclusive amiibo was Dark Pit. That launch went smoothly, as large quantities shipped all across the US. There’s no reason to think that won’t be the case here also, as Nintendo has really rallied lately after initially bungling the amiibo situation.
