Galak-Z has a more forgiving mode on Steam

PC version only a week away

17-Bit is bringing its stylish space shooter Galak-Z: The Dimensional to PC much sooner than I was expecting. How does this month sound? It’s set for a Steam release on Thursday, October 29.

In his review of the PlayStation 4 version, Chris brought up concerns over the game’s “isolated” structure, but found the core experience to be “a treat for roguelike and space combat fans alike.”

The PC port includes a new Arcade mode which, according to 17-Bit, “lets you replay failed missions any number of times without losing all of your saved progress.” Thank goodness. The original challenge remains under another name, Rogue mode, “if and when you’re looking to test your skill and bravery by putting everything on the line, every mission.”

I played a bit of Galak-Z pre-release (PAX, it must have been) and was not very good at all. Partially out of the fear that I might never get good, I decided to wait for a sale. I’ll have to reconsider.
