Now at Hitman developer IO Interactive
The Divsion director Ryan Barnard has left Ubisoft to take a post at IO Interactive, the Copenhagen-based Square Enix subsidiary behind titles like Hitman and Kane & Lynch.
According to Square Enix (via MCV), Barnard is now the studio’s gameplay director, a newly-created role that entails heading up three of IO’s core teams: gameplay, online, and world.
“Ryan’s contributions to game design over the years show he’s the ideal person to spearhead the coming efforts,” Square Enix told MCV. “We are very happy to add his talent to the pool of great people working at IO.”
Before joining Ubisoft’s Swedish satellite Massive Entertainment, Barnard previously worked at Sony Online Entertainment (now Daybreak) on EverQuest II, Crytek, and Warhammer Online dev EA Mythic.
