Possibly coming this fall

Modern Warfare, the game that really kicked off Call of Duty‘s wild popularity nine years ago, looks to be getting a curtain call. According to a reservation card at Target for the soon-to-be-announced Infinite Warfare, a remastering of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is also in development.
The leak comes via a photo that was posted to the newly-formed Infinite Warfare subreddit. The image indicates that there’s a legacy edition of Infinite Warfare and that it’ll include the remaster of Modern Warfare. Nothing notes whether the remaster will launch alongside this year’s Call of Duty or if it’ll be released at a later date.
Of course, none of this is official. This could be a hoax, but if it is, at least it’s a hoax that makes a good deal of sense. Given industry trends and Activision trends, we’re probably due for this remaster. Activision will likely let us know sooner rather than later.
