Wii knockoff Vii’s Chinese television commercial, also disassembly Posted 3 December 2007 by Dale North Recommended VideosA few months ago we told you about a Chinese Wii one-off called the Vii. This product steals not only Nintendo’s design and control scheme, but also bites from its marketing and advertising model, as it’s aimed at families, children, and elderly people. Seeing the device in action in the Vii’s Chinese television infomercial really hits home. The games look like sad rip-offs of Wii Sports titles, and the two misshapen-headed mascots are horrendously ugly. Scary even. Also, who is James? There’s one exception: I pointed out earlier that the Cooking Mama rip-off looked pretty good, and now that I’ve seen the game in action, I have to say that it looks to have slightly better graphics than Cooking Mama. Weird. The disassembly by the Chinese engadget team has awaits after the jump. You’ll be surprised to see innards of this console — there’s hardly anything in it!
