Wii U-exclusive Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is legally the last game for the system until Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which I bet will be better on NX anyways, so I understand fans being protective over it. They were particularly upset to learn that some characters got pants over their underwear, ages changed, and bikinis replaced on the boat ride over from Japan.
Reminded of the western release date last week, director Mitsuru Hirata tweeted (translated by Nintendo Everything), “Come to think of it, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE release date is this week on 24th isn’t it! For various reasons we had to change some outfits, contents of events and vocals, but I think the outfits of the overseas version are quite cute! If you live overseas and own a Wii U by all means buy the game!”

Then again, Hirata needs y’all to buy this game so he can stay having a job. Maybe he doesn’t feel that way at all. He could think the changes are tacky and distasteful to the overall message of the game. Who knows!
But if you feel that way (but can’t speak Japanese), head over here where some dedicated fans are patching back in all the bikinis, “return[ing] references to Gravure Modelling,” “[changing] Profiles to reflect the character’s real ages,” and so on.
