You probably won’t have to augment your PC to play Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

This seems reasonable

For subject material focusing on new technologies and enhancement, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided doesn’t require anything too extraordinary of your PC to be able to actually play the game. Maybe there’s some thematic dissonance there, but we’ll gladly look the other way in favor of not needing a super machine to run it.

The Steam page for Mankind Divided was updated today with the game’s PC specs. The minimum requirements aren’t bad at all. They are:

  • OS: Windows 7.1SP1 or above (64-bit Operating System Required)
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB) or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (2GB)
  • HDD/SSD: 45 GB

Of course, that’s just to be able play it. Things predictably ramp up when looking at the recommended specs. The baseline setup you’ll need for an optimal Mankind Divided experience is:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K or AMD FX 8350 Wraith
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 480 – 1920 x 1080 or NVIDIA GTX 970 – 1920 x 1080
  • HDD/SSD: 55GB (Including DLC)

Apparently, there will be 10GB worth of add-ons for Mankind Divided. It’s a weird distinction to make for only one of the two categories, but whatever. You can just probably slot 45GB of hard drive space in for the recommended specs, too.

Lastly, the page notes that pre-loading begins on August 19 at 9:00am Pacific. Mankind Divided actually releases on August 23. That four day wait between getting the game and playing the game can be spent deciding whether or not you’re going to kill those augs.
