Representing Tokyo
Earlier this afternoon, I was joking with my roommate about the closing ceremony for the Rio Olympics that took place this evening. I told him with the summer games heading to Tokyo next, Mario should be in the portion of the show where the next host country makes a small appearance. It made sense to me. After all, Mario and the Olympic Games are no strangers. Nintendo’s world famous mascot has been battling Sonic and friends at these events since 2007.
We both agreed that was something that should happen, and went on our merry way, choosing not to watch the ceremony. Clearly, I should have been because what I wanted to happen, happened.
With a little help from Mario, Tokyo is ready to host the 2020 Olympics.
