GDC is great for award shows, and its always killer to see games you loved getting the kind of nods that you feel they deserve. It was much that way with the announcement of Microsoft’s Xbox Live awards, in which the best of the best were put in the spotlight. Bomberman Live took home the top award, which has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Mr. Destructoid was a playable character, but still somehow rocks by coincidence.
The press release and full list of winners is after the jump for your perusal. I appreciate that some of the really addictive games made the list, but after Niero pointed out to me that Puzzle Quest was not on the list, I went from pleased to out for blood in the space of an instant. I’m lucky I’m not at GDC this year, because I’d have to chew out the throat of the person responsible for nominating Pac-Man over Puzzle Quest for best original game. It was great…but it’s still Pac-Man! AAAAAAAAAH! *promptly goes into psychotic frenzy*
