Nothing brings families together and tears them apart quite like Mario Kart
Nintendo has detailed the baseline deals you can expect for Switch and 2DS during Black Friday 2018.
If you’re picking up a Nintendo Switch ($299.99) this shopping season, you’ll get a downloadable copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at no extra cost. Considering it was one of the best games available on Wii U and it’s even better nowadays on Switch, that’s a great pack-in offer. Although some people will prefer a physical copy over digital, I feel like every Switch owner should have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Nintendo’s other Black Friday bundle is a limited-edition red-and-yellow 2DS system ($79.99) that comes with Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS. Some elements of the level-creating platformer, most notably online sharing, didn’t make the cut for this portable version. That’s still a bummer. But Nintendo did at least go to the effort of including a hundred premade levels. They’re really good, too.
These bundles might not directly speak to the average Destructoid reader, but for gift givers and the general gaming audience that buys systems later in their lifecycles, I think they’ll do the trick.
