My eyes just lit up
Nintendo hopes to give players more reasons to return to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe this year.
In a cheery little video posted today, Nintendo head of software development Shinya Takahashi spoke about the game’s recent Nintendo Labo Toy-Con Motorbike addition and pledged more support. “There will be further updates for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” he said, “so please look forward to it.”
Mr. Takahashi answered a few questions on some of his favorite #NintendoSwitch titles, including The Legend of #Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and #Splatoon2! pic.twitter.com/UsKJKHNfLT

Takahashi also said to expect “more free updates all the way until December” for Splatoon 2.
As for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe updates, I’m curious how much more work Nintendo is willing to put in — are we talking tweaks and small new features, or full-on tracks? I’m keeping my expectations in check, but if we ever do get more courses, I’m right here, wallet in hand. I’d prefer that over more characters.
