Now for that PC port…
Just like that, nearly every Halo title is available through Xbox Game Pass. Today, Microsoft revealed what has been expected for many months: That Halo: The Master Chief Collection is coming to Xbox’s monthly subscription service.
Master Chief Collection is made up of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4. Halo 5: Guardians, Halo Wars, Halo Wars 2, and Halo: Spartan Assault are already available on Xbox Game Pass. Further, Halo Infinite will be included with Game Pass the day it launches (whenever that may be). The only Halo titles omitted are Halo: ODST (which is DLC for Master Chief Collection that can be purchased) and Halo Reach.
The addition of Master Chief Collection goes into effect on September 1, and Microsoft has a handful of new enhancements to go along with it. As outlined on Xbox Wire, there’s “improved matchmaking, offline LAN, customizable installation options, and faster load times.” Also, Xbox One X gets the added bonus of 4K UHD resolution.
There’s a bit of interesting-but-tangential Game Pass news alongside the Halo announcement. Microsoft has created an official Xbox Game Pass mobile app for finding and queuing up games. It’s in beta right now. Android users can download it here, and iOS users can register here.
