Get involved or get gone
Respawn Entertainment has been making the authority known within Apex Legends lately. Not only was it recently reported that an amazing 770,000 cheaters have been banned from the battle royale title so far, but a new rule will also be showing the door to those not pulling their weight.
Speaking on Reddit, Respawn announced that they will be handing out temp bans (and in extreme cases permanent bans) to players who frequently engage in “piggy-backing.” This is a form of farming XP where players take part in matches but actually do not participate, allowing their team-mates to do all the work while scooping up the XP and rewards regardless.
This isn’t a new deal, anyone who has played team-based titles can attest to this irritation being prevalent almost since online gaming began, but enough people have forwarded complaints to Respawn that they have felt the need to address it directly. The new ruling is not in place immediately, but will be applied in the near future.
Apex Legends is available now on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
