Whoa, Nellie!
The wild west is big. Like just seemingly endless, all this vast and open space that stretches forever. As far as Red Dead Redemption 2‘s concerned, that depiction might translate to a whole lot of gigabytes.
On the heels of yesterday’s reveal of a simple Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 Pro bundle, someone with eagle eyes spotted what seems to be a space requirement. Even though it’s tough to read, it seems as though Red Dead Redemption 2 will need a 105GB download. Here’s the report from Rockstar Intel, which is a Rockstar-focused news outlet:
NEWS: Red Dead Redemption 2 will require a minimum storage space of 105GB

Of course, 105GB is a lot — especially when the base model PS4 and Xbox One S only have 500GB hard drives. But, it’s also a perfectly feasible size for this game. The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online weighs in at 72GB. Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online could easily surpass the century mark with its 4K textures.
We’ve reached out to Rockstar for confirmation and comment. We’ll update this article if/when we hear back.
