Well, a fencing match at least
This weekend sees the start of an open beta on Namco Bandai’s sequel of swords and sorcery, Soulcalibur VI. However, it sees that the game’s Producer, Motohiro Okubo, is taking his own pre-launch practice pretty seriously.
In a fun new video, Okubo steps into the ring with professional Olympic fencer Miles Chamley Watson, in what seems to be the most poorly-advised lab session any fighting game player has ever attempted. Following the clash of steel, Watson then steps into Okubo’s world, challenging the Producer to a few scraps in Soulcalibur. Watson chooses Raphael, naturally.
You can see how these two professionals fare in their opposing arenas in the video below. Don’t forget that if you want to try your own hand on the Stage of History, then the Soulcalibur VI open beta is available to pre-load right now.
Soulcalibur VI launches October 19 on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
